The Warwick Round a Bout Project consisted of the construction of two Round-A-Bouts in Lititz, PA. The first one was at the intersection of Woodcrest and 6th street. The second is located at the intersection of Clay Road and SR772. Both involved Erosion and Sedimentation Control Installation, Bulk Earth Work, Sanitary Sewer, Water and Storm Sewer installation, curb, paving and ADA compliant sidewalks with ramps.
Although somewhat similar in appearance, they were quite different in their specifications and construction. We encountered over 200 cubic yards of trench rock at the Woodcrest location and well over 1000 cubic yards of bulk and trench rock at the Clay Road site.
Underground Utility relocation was a key element in the construction at Woodcrest site that required multiple adjustments and coordination with the utility owners and Municipal Authorities. Both locations required relocation of overhead utilities which caused multiple delays and remains an obstacle at the Clay Road location. Due to these delays, the Clay Road RAB will not be completed until the Spring of 2021. We are presently installing Temporary Paving to permit the opening of the RAB for the Thanksgiving Holiday and winter months.
This was the first project that CMS performed in house survey for construction layout. CMS worked with Traffic Planning and Design as the Engineer of Record for the Woodcrest RAB and ELA for Clay Road. ELA has overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with PUB 408 and construction specs on both sites.
Estimated completion in Spring of 2021
